summertime and the livings easy

Summer time entertaining is the best.  Who doesn't love the warm weather, or if you're lucky an ocean breeze, easy cooking (BBQs) & cleanups, and  relaxing outdoors with the ones you love.  Some fun ideas for your summer entertaining:

Color palate: Nothing beats bright, fresh, clean white for the summer.  Try amping up your summer whites with some juicy citrus and calming blues.

Fabrics:
Linens, cotton - anything versatile and easy to clean.  Burlap makes the perfect table cloth.

Ambiance:
Candle light- votive candles in mason jars or lanterns, oil lamps in hurricanes, substitute candles for fireflies
Galvanized tubs- hold everything from beverages, to shawls & flip flops
Red wagons- are not just for toting around your little ones, load them up with picnic or BBQ supplies/food
Sidewalk chalk- perfect for directing people to the backyard or lake house or to create a menu

Easy Dining:
Fruit ice
Mint or lavender infused lemonade
Get creative with your cutlery holders
Bright water- with lemons, mint or cucumber in adorable Ball Mason jars
Smores, need I say more?

adorable ideas for the bride to be

I love doing something special for the bride-to-be.  I adore these hangers from the Etsy store: Lilia Francis.  You can customize the hangers to say the bride-to-be's new last name, or the names of the bride and groom.  What a perfect way to show off her gorgeous wedding dress!

Or to showcase the bridesmaid dresses, what a great thank you gift!

Channel inspired

I am loving this spread from the talented folks at WedLuxe Magazine via SwankyTables.  Inspired by the timeless Coco Chanel, this luxurious table was created by Spectacular Spectacular and captured on film by Ikonica.  The rich chocolate,  soft pink and platinum are stunning together, seriously this would be perfect for a grown up bridal shower or an engagement dinner.

Parisian Baby Shower

Check out this adorably chic, Parisian circus inspired baby shower via the Hostess Blog!  I love every detail about it!  From the color pallet: soft pink, onyx, & white; to the Evian Christian Lacroix bottles, to the crystal candelabras,  and vintage circus posters.  The whole event had a certain je ne sais quoi,  translation: An intangible quality that makes something distinctive or attractive.  The ladies at Lollipop Events & Design, spared no detail.

Beautiful vintage umbrellas suspended from the ceiling.

A dessert table that resembled a true Parisian patisserie.

Evian Christian Lacroix bottles, love these they are art all by themselves, or group them to make a statement.

Fun vintage inspired posters.

They even had a clown on stilts!  Checkout the dramatic lighting effect on the stairs using votive candles.
