A Royal Wedding

Prince Guillaume and Belgian Countess Stephanie de Lannoy were married this past weekend.  And their nuptials attracted royals and the like from all over Europe.  I just can't get over that stunning Ellie Saab gown that Stephanie wore complete with a 13 foot train adorned with 50,000 pearls, truly fit for a princess.

Royal Wedding Fever

The marriage of Prince William and Kate is set to be this Friday, April 29th. From Kiss me Kate beer, to the Official Royal Wedding website, and Royal wedding condoms, Royal Wedding Fever is everywhere we look.  Although it's sad President Obama didn't declare this day a public holiday I can't wait to catch the highlights (and of course see that much talked about wedding dress!).  If you're a true die hard Royal Wedding fan, you can catch the wedding broadcast starting at 4am central time here in Chicago or you can stream it at work from BBC's live coverage.   Here's a look at some of the more famous Royal Weddings to date.

The ultimate in Royal Weddings: Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III of Monaco.  Grace was already Hollywood royalty, she met her future husband at the Canes film festival, her ring a 12-carat emerald-cut diamond flanked by two baguettes, her dress designed by Helen Rose.  To this day Grace remains the epitome of royalty.

The Crown Princes Victoria of Sweden and Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland were married in June of 2010.  Marrying a commoner and her former trainer, Victoria looked the picture of elegance on her wedding day.

King Abdullah II of Jordan's married Queen Rania in 1993,  the had a whirlwind romance that were engaged within 2 months of meeting each other.  Queen Rania is one of the most stylish and powerful women in the world, and her wedding day was no different.  The future Queen wore a gold-trimmed, short-sleeve gown by British designer Bruce Oldfield.

The 'fairytale' Royal Wedding of our generation, Prince Charles and Princess Dianna.  With her 25-ft train, the whole world fell in love with Lady Di, and to this day their wedding remains the most iconic of Royal Weddings.

Okay, so technically Cinderella isn't real, but her magical transition form commoner to Royalty embodies the wish of every little girl to one day marry their own Prince Charming, including this little girl.
