Emerald Green Engagement Dinner

Green and Black Engagement Party

Today's feature is the engagement party of my brother-in-law and soon to be sister-in-law, captured by the talented Mike Fan.  We decided that,since he is a pharmacists and she is a soon to be optometrist, that we would play off their occupations in fun ways.  Thus the prescription bottle escort cards that doubled as favors filled with Jelly Bellys, and the Snellen eye chart that doubled as table numbers.  So excited for the both of them, and we can't wait to celebrate their wedding!

Run for the Roses: Kentucky Derby Inspiration

This Saturday is both Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby. I've always wanted to attend the Kentucky Derby, sipping a mint julep, and sporting a large floppy hat.  If you aren't able to make it to Louisville this weekend, then bring the Kentucky Derby to you.  Whether you prefer sipping on a margarita (on the rocks with salt, please) or a mint julep, here's some Kentucky Derby inspiration for your weekend, enjoy!

Black & White Engagement Celebration

Maybe it's because we were at a black & white cocktail party for an engagement this past weekend, or perhaps I just love the elegance of a black & white party.  Either way I'm drooling over Emily & John's elegant engagement party.  With beautiful arrangements of white garden roses, orchids, and white peonies adorned with wide black ribbons, all of which complimented the unique wall decor of the venue, giving it a dramatic and elegant look.  And of course there was the Asian inspired menu which was laid out so artfully, enjoy!

Modern Garden Party

It's to bad my birthday is in the middle of winter because I'm in love with this modern garden party and I think it would make for the perfect birthday bash.  I'm obsessed with the sleek upholstery - from the pinstriped arm chairs to the sexy suede love seats and the tufted ottomans, the streamlined look of everything-epically the beautiful wood bar, the subtle use of color- hits of yellow, gold, and purple, and the juxtaposition of dark woods and shiny metallics.  This outdoor party is stunning!

Congrats You're Engaged

One of our best friends got engaged 2 weeks ago, and we threw her a mini 'Congrats on the Bling' party.  Here's the inspiration and the details behind our DIY event with the{little}details, enjoy!

Details:
This mini fete came together in all of a day, so we had to be a little resourceful.  The cake stand and wine chiller are from Crate & Barrel, the square glass jars and creamer container (used here as a flower pot) are from World Market.  We used strawberry malt balls to fill the square glass jars, and ring pops were attached to popsicle sticks, to give them height.  Her name was added to champagne flutes in pink glitter, and really popped with the champagne.  We stamped the tablecloth with a black damask stamp and a pink diamond stamp, with black and pink streamers added to the boarders.  And the cupcakes were from Sweet Mandy B's in Lincoln Park.
